In March, a team of two traumatologists, an anesthesiologist, and an operating room nurse from COEM arrived in Ebomé.
Some of them had already been to Ebomé and found important organizational improvements. One major change was that one of Ebomé’s general practitioners, Dr. Belinga, enthusiastically agreed at the beginning of the year to centralize all orthopedic pathology cases between COEM campaigns (six are planned for 2026). Dr. Belinga sees all the orthopedic patients and consults with COEM almost daily via WhatsApp.
During this campaign, approximately 25 consultations, 5 joint infiltrations, and 9 surgical interventions were carried out, along with post-surgical care and plaster cast application.
Above all, there was extensive teaching (the priority objective) and also a great deal of organizational work.
