Pediatrician Ana Martín Adrados was in Ebomé throughout April working with the local pediatrician, Dr. Yemdji, and providing training to the nursing staff, especially in the care of premature or low birth weight newborns, and those with infectious problems (meningitis, neonatal sepsis, etc.).

In mid-April, pediatrician Mélanie Alejos arrived to reinforce the service until June 1st.

The unit also has the support of Dr. Marina González, a pediatrician from Idiwaka, who is available at any time to discuss a case or find a solution to a lack of supplies in the unit. Her expertise is invaluable.

According to the Spanish pediatricians, Dr. Yemdji does the work of four pediatricians. She is the only pediatrician in the area and handles outpatient appointments, emergencies, and hospitalized children. Therefore, the presence of these pediatricians is proving essential in promoting quality care in the neonatal unit.

Now the most vulnerable patients at Ebomé have a better chance of getting better. Thank you Ana, thank you Mélanie, thank you Marina!
